Arkham, 1975: Jonathan Davis' father has disappeared. His tracks lead to Germany, to the Swabian-Franconian Forest where he was stationed after the Second World War. brutashell review - 'Filmed in black and white and primarily spoken in German, it is obvious that Die Farbe did not have a huge budget to work with. Effects are minimal and the cast is utterly unknown. I should point out that these are all good things, and work very much in the film's favour. There is no CGI to rely on, no name actors to carry it. Rather, the filmmakers do the unthinkable: they create a genuine atmosphere of unimaginable dread and unspeakable horror, using shadow, suggestion and rare splashes of that Nameless colour in a few select frames. In short, they did a damn good job. Die Farbe is subtle in its mounting horror, nurturing a dark dread deep in your bowels with every shot. All of the best and most stomach-turningly distressing films I’ve ever seen have come out of Germany: M, The Cabinet Of Dr. Caligari, The White Ribbon, and now this one. Leave it to the Germans. We know how to gross you out on the deepest psychological levels.
Lovecraft worshippers and devotees of German Expressionism alike, take heed: seek out and view this film at your earliest possible convenience. It’s a dark, noisome little gem that will squirm into your subconscious and lay its eggs in your sanity. Hey, not everyone gets the honour of being a host organism for the Elder Gods, you know.'

伊斯特伍德在这部片子里确实老了。不是老而弥坚，也不是英雄迟暮，而是一个固执老头逐渐凋零，走不动路的那种老。
看到东木大爷，满满的感动！一生都献给了电影事业
行货吧，也不能说差，但就是没什么出彩的点，除了几段的摄影。
首先不得不感叹老东木身体之强健、精力之旺盛，音乐品味也一如既往的好。但到了这个年纪，也不能要求他部部精品，何况还是自导自演，这次剧本实话说有点随意和敷衍了，片中并没有一场真正意义上的危机场面，当然也无法寄希望一个90高龄老人上演出格的演出（只是坐马上的镜头就让人心惊胆战），缺少戏剧冲突也更突显出温柔如水。而一些明显是在跟自己做道别的细节，挺感慨的，并且再让自己置身西部世界和来上一段浪漫的黄昏之恋，对他一辈子的西部情结也是最好的谢幕方式了。
这部拍的确实有点糙，考虑老爷子的年龄多给一星。
东木老了，这么大年纪还在努力拍电影，虽然未达上乘但可看性依然在
东木一部比一部温润，甚至都懒得为主角设置外部的障碍。黑衣小哥os：我送车来了。
电影很工整，美墨边境完全成了老爷子大片的背景板，特别是有些部分是直接能拿去当广告的程度，在这方面东木还是游刃有余，故事上就偏平淡了，每次危机来临就瞬间结束，加上年事已高，驯马镜头也用了替身，不过老爷子的状态是真的好啊！
东木大爷的电影得抓紧看，说不定就是遗作，他今年来拍的老人题材也是往这个方向去的，这部也是，但确实有些力不从心了。借着老人和小孩的戏剧冲突，东木也在讲述自己的人生哲学，牛仔，人终于要和自己和解的。
虽然这个九十多的蹒跚老牛仔摘下了他高傲的牛仔帽，变得温情甚至有点絮叨，不过当他拿起左轮那一刻味儿还是对了起来。所以就算等他120长满了老年斑，包着纸尿裤举着颤抖不已的手还在拍电影的时候，我还会去看

比《老爷车》稍微缺了一点点，但比《Mule》要好很多。
尽管看到他的样子依然感到亲切。但是老爷子已经老到不适合再做演员了，整部电影像是一碗清淡的粥。
哭泣的男人，东木老爷子宝刀未老，西部，荒野，亲情与爱情，温情脉脉。
想起了不相关的Thomas Cromwell, “Most gracious Prince, I cry for mercy, mercy, mercy."
夕阳晚照，老爷子的心境吧。不过，这种美国老头把墨西哥孩子带回美利坚与家人重逢的戏码好像有点多，比如说连姆尼森的神枪手。
5 老爷子以一种就是要完成任务的方式结束了电影，尽管有人会不接受，爱谁谁。
当放下对社会的观点和认知表达，老年人的浪漫和情怀成了我们眼中老套的故事。
