The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 舞台剧形式的密闭空间，几波人物轮番登场，剧情倒是也算峰回路转，逐步还原事实的真相，只是结尾强行拨正与温暖有些生硬。

窦骁灾难的演技消解了这部片营造出的一切黑色与反转
剧本挺单一的，一路看下来苏的人生确实有点太一帆风顺没什么大挫折。如果放在几年前，我一定对戏里这样大段大段的鸡汤金句会嗤之以鼻，但在如今急剧下行的社会风气，这样的纯粹到笨倔的电影却提供了警醒，普世价值才是做人的基本盘。
不是粤语原声，配音真的难受😭
国产黑色犯罪悬疑喜剧是内地院线并不常见的类型之一，本片采用剧本杀式的设定，将舞台设置在一所老宅之内，主演阵容也颇让人期待，拥有小成本爆款的潜质。影片的叙事手法和CULT风格多少致敬盖里奇、昆汀和诺兰等一众鬼才，剥洋葱似的闪回、层出不穷的反转，让真相拼图在观众面前逐步成型又不断推倒重来。作为处女长片，整体完成度值得加半星鼓励，期待曾经跑得贼快（？）的导演带来更多的惊喜之作。
小成本，有惊喜，以人为故事线来回穿插，鸟点笑点紧迫点都有，剧情随着人物出场故事线不停的反转或者揭秘再推进剧情发展，直到小孩出场，心直接碎了，以为交易毒品（黑手提箱）原来是贩卖儿童。一下子为后来人物反转在正能量做乐铺垫。最后一句：猪队友真的不行，会坑人！朱珠还是很美很惊艳。老范表演好没毛病，窦骁有点意外惊喜！

身体残疾没有打败他，母爱激励他，虽然很辛苦，但他成功了！
煽情有点刻意。男主演残障的确值一个提名。还是能关注现实的，给个四星鼓励。
范伟和窦骁还挺有cp感，尤其是每次时间定格的时候。但看完之后感觉惊喜度还是不够大。有些地方的逻辑感觉不太顺，不知道是我的问题还是电影的问题。
