罪犯身份和犯罪前科只是外壳，诺拉的镜头里包裹着更为炎凉的世态：阶层固化本身就注定了这些“蝼蚁之辈”永生打着无法撼动的“原罪”烙印，注定无法被主流社会所接纳或救赎。在这场以命相抵的博弈中，所谓“饶恕”只是美国富人阶层向下投以怜悯一瞥的自我感动，和底层人永远无法实现“生活还要继续”的自我和解。他们带着无法被摘除的标签在夹缝里苟延残喘，左冲右突最后也只是在鬼打墙里撞得头破血流。在一个对人评级愈加脸谱化、扁平化、数据化的系统中，没有时间等他们解释，更没有路径供他们翻盘。那些发生在幼年时惶恐不安的黑色梦魇，如同被演奏出来的阴沉而哀伤的乐章，最终抵达的依然是血脉和基因中早就铺设好的危险命途。
