The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 这个脑洞真不是一般人有的，怪异，不适，大受震撼，这种未来概念又能被理解。这部电影可以看作是艺术与死亡最直观解读，艺术的灵感与器官的生长，艺术创作与身体解剖，切除器官与性爱的表达，艺术创作的疼痛，都很直观地表现出来。只不过非常有嘲讽意味的是，这种表演艺术迟早会把所有的器官掏空，直至死亡。身体变成一种表演和消费的奇观，生命的意义只有虚空。
