The IMAX "Cosmic Voyage" film was made as a public service with sponsorship by the Smithsonian Air and Space museum. On DVD, borrowed from my local public library, it plays at just over 30 minutes with Morgan Freeman supplying a pleasing narrative. As one would expect from an IMAX film, the image quality is superb and the Dolby 5.1 sound track is very well done. Simulated cosmic explosions shake your walls! That is, if you have a good powered subwoofer in your system. The film takes a very useful approach to examining the size of the universe, from tiny sub-atomic particles to the vastness of the whole universe. (Fortunately, when God created the Universe he had dispatched a few angels with video cameras at different vantage points so we get to see actual footage from several billion years ago.) The film starts in Venice, where the discovery of the telescope originated, and uses a one-meter hoop as a reference point, then gradually goes larger by powers of 10, e.g. 10 meters, 100, 1000, etc until we can see the whole universe. Then it takes the opposite journey, going smaller by powers of 10 until be see inside sub-atomic particles. The story is well-woven with beautiful effects created especially for this film. It is entertaining and educational at the same time. All of "oldsters" can enjoy it for the scientific history we are already familiar with, and all the "youngsters" can enjoy it for the educational supplement it provides. Overall a masterful film. Any numerical "rating" of "Cosmic Voyage" is meaningless. If one is looking for a superb film about our universe and modern theories of its formation, this one is hard to beat. 梳着大背头脸上纤尘不染的威廉，旅馆所有物件白布包裹，低调出入赌场，神秘人背后牵扯的残酷记忆以鱼眼、粗颗粒不情愿地闪回，白布下罪孽丛生，奇克的出现掀动了白布，让玩牌度日的威廉有了帮助奇克也是自我救赎的意愿，复仇发生，却是过于沉闷的发展。
不用带脑子看，感情转变很突然，演员好看就可以。
8.5/10 2021年看过最好的美国电影，甚至不用加之一，是血统纯正的美国片。保罗施拉德让人敬佩，重复的拍着同一种电影、写着同一类主人公。依然是机械学的，单管镜的，心理现实主义，剧作无懈可击，导演异常沉稳，无误的精确度与恰当的适配性，几乎抹去了调度上本应揭示的若干导演意图性，控制力被隐去，用最小主义的调度，排除任何拟情或共情的可能。片尾主人公同样迎来了自己的恩宠时刻，一如American Gigolo和Light Sleeper那样 (即使追根溯源这来自布列松的启示)。虽早已不是第一次看施拉德的电影，但每当看他的新片时还是会叹服这般作者意志。
3.5。片子细碎而冗长，弥漫着一种萧索的氛围，一如主角的心境。还以为是讲述一个天才的赌片，没想到最后是一个人的赎罪之旅。这种独立电影的气质略显沉闷却又莫名的引人入胜。大反派居然是威廉达福？

剧情太老套了吧！男主身材好长相还好，还纯情，这种男的也就电影里有吧
在一部爱情片里面，男女主角居然都令人生厌，唉服了油。
