The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 没想到自己竟然也到了会打出情怀分的年纪，但仔细回忆起来，第一次打开唐顿的时候自己差不多也还是一个十三四岁的小孩子，原来十年真的过去了，Carson好像更老了些，Lady Mary也不再是那个年轻女人了。新的时代降临在陈旧的宅院之上，历史感愈发凸显，其间还是哭了两次。

一出关于梦想与坚持的宣言，一封写给剧院和所有行业人的情书。并非功成名就的风光回望，却是更为后人熟知的错过和遗憾；他在生前没有真正知道自己的成功，失败与潦倒注解了与之后种种成就的刺眼反差。但电影中的世界不曾因为这份悲剧般的命中注定而变得灰色- -却更像始终不断的能量宣泄：疯狂的、热闹的、天真的。随便一截图就能抓到大牌客串的阵容足够让人回看；而有了《天使在美国》的试炼，加菲也仿佛驾轻就熟自己的演绎。Thank you, Jonathan Larson.

随着音乐响起，缓缓出现那片绿草坪，出现Downton，感觉一下子就来了，剧情什么的都不重要了。不过电影拍摄和法国南部风情都蛮有意思的。老太太走了，这个系列应该真的结束了吧。托马斯的戏份应该是删了，等着线上再看一遍。
唐顿庄园可以说是演绎了一个家族整整的一个时代，而随着老夫人的离世，可以说是一个时代的谢幕。
日常辱美又辱法，哈哈哈哈哈哈哈，英式幽默永远能逗乐我，而景色和服饰和音色音调简直美不胜收。我想我真的会喜欢全年温度不高，都能穿着得体的不列颠岛，但是我不喜欢总是下雨，会不会德国更适合我一点唔

满满都是情怀分，唐家屯的配乐经典永流传。大家都老了。好多年没追，没想到这一集正赶上毒舌奶奶辞世，玛丽正式接棒。好多曾经形单影只的角色双宿双飞，二小姐现在比大小姐美多了。
2022映画第13部，5星。音乐一响起来就控制不住了。两条线，拍电影这条线很精彩，但是violet年轻时的love affair设定就有点儿狗血……不过还算合情合理。南法好美。唐顿看下来真的感慨万千，设定正是那个日新月异的时代，有着传统和现代的冲击，不接受变化就没法生存。从一开始的为了钱娶美国老婆，到最后为了修屋顶把房子借出来拍电影，这剧里的女人们个个都很强势。
唐顿庄园系列还可以再拍，但再也不是原版的“唐顿庄园”。
时光流转，看唐2时的心境变化很难用言语形容。有爱，有不舍。就此结局，挺好。
