The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 漫画风格的电影，甚至说台词那个腔调也很动漫风，时下的年轻人应该比较喜欢这种风格吧 故事情节简单，聚焦在动作场面和酷炫上面…
剧情传统侠义长存，居然成了加分项。主创明显分不清楚唐风与和风，把黑泽明的一些东西照猫画虎搬过来，其实扣分不少。出于对国产网大的鼓励，还是给4颗星推荐。下次多学别人的精华，少学别人的外形。虽说形神兼备对网大是一种苛责，但有神却走形让人难以忍受。长期观看这种伪中华又假东洋的景，对于观众的鉴赏水品也是一种损害。

暴力美学，没有其他，看得很揪心。“世间不公道的事情多得是，你管得了吗？”，“能管一管就一个”，令人敬佩，这就是我心中的侠。
我很喜欢洛阳相别时的那个场景，四两拨千斤，处理得很妙，但是整部影片却还是有“矫情”的老毛病，动作戏很赞，很不错。

没有赘笔，没有雷点，利落的杀人技，巧妙的转场和铺垫，演员文戏武戏都非常在线，腔调十足的诚意小成本之作，必须五星
故事情节有点像《三少爷的剑》，动作风格有点像《座头市》但是更贴近现代格斗。
略有点装比。还有，红颜早提醒你惹不起，如果一开始就告诉你，惹对方会让她惨死送命，你还会坚持选择吗
制作没的说，就是太装了，看着太累了。装的太过了。
国产剧中也算中资之作，打斗场面虽然爽快，但剧本的缺陷很明显
不错啊，末段的画面和调度很纯熟了。可惜两个女性角色，或者说钉钉子的墙太垮了，没能加分。限制网大的，是自认末流，吴京那种破逼玩意儿都大卖，自信点儿谢苗。

没看过谢苗，这一部网大认识了。
挺有想法的一部电影 算是物尽其用了 如果可以拍个系列片也不是不可以 可能是没有太多的钱 但是市场应该是有的 期待一下
5.5，网大与B级片的本质差别取决于视听刺激的尺度大小，以及因小成本大尺度而生的一套游荡于主流美学之外的工艺框架。片子的核心叙事任务是塑造盲侠形象及其与乱世的交锋，借用的元素都不罕见，远有《座头市》《修罗雪姬》，近有《伸冤人》，但东西不新鲜，尺度又不够大。官僚阶级玩弄百姓，没有什么让人有生理反应的残忍画面，同样，主人公匡扶正义砍瓜切菜也没有什么溅血的复仇快感。只有放在国产网大里，遵循基本的元素与系统叙事原则才能作为优点突出，至少80%的戏都是围绕人物来做的。反派朝廷爪牙身份的背后有着曾经的黑恶势力努力攀附权贵以合法化的线索，整个交锋是有绝技无地位的民间人士与被用后即弃的工具之间的死斗。不知是否有审查因素在，这条完全可以多些笔墨再丰富丰富，掌权者的势力集体缺席，他们会纵容反派如此飞扬跋扈吗？
