The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 也就是个mv或者十多分钟的短片的体量吧，戳爷挺可爱…
我之前一直觉得戳爷和甜茶长得挺像，都是一种类型的少年感。长到现在觉得戳爷颜值还是更高一些，甜茶只在cmbyn里是天花板。感觉像在看另一版本题材不同的爱你西蒙，但没后者好看，剧情松松散散的。主要其实还是讲一个gay teenager的青春一夏。
戳爷说他想演cmbyn幸好是甜茶演，看了戳爷演同性恋后，想了想他还是先多演些电影磨炼一下演技吧。要不是这是一部轻松喜剧他的演技一定漏洞百出。还是值得鼓励，个人是看好未来发展的。电影没有以往LGBT题材电影的苦大仇深和激烈算轻松＋愉快还带有青春片的阳光，但也失去了探讨艾滋与社会的关系的深度。

色調很舒服，很類型片的樣子，都是有在旁邊支持的閨蜜，因為愛情拋棄閨蜜，愛情崩了又去找閨蜜，之後又和解，中間夾雜著家庭問題、碎片化的場景與故事情節，也許是色調真的太過舒服了所以一點也不油膩，可惜有點短，網飛要是能夠把它買回去改編成劇集就好了，不求個很多季，限定劇就好了，甚至都不不需要多長，只需要把友情家庭愛情以及那三個月的等待講好就好了，電影真的不夠看。

比想象中的好很多，很工整的一部青春片。主旨很简单，珍惜身边真正关心你的家人、朋友，对那些不珍视你的人就let them go，不值得为他们浪费眼泪。Troye的演技竟然还不错，好几幕湿润眼眶的情绪都恰到好处。虽然是他的个人秀，但几个配角写的也有趣，甚至值得explore。Ellen奶奶的表演永远那么好哭。P.S 感谢弯弯字幕组地译制～
三个月等结果的过程很煎熬，到最后结果好像也不那么重要了，关于青春、成长、亲情、友情、爱情的认知日趋成熟成了电影的亮点和主线，挺不错的
感覺想説的有點多：親人離世、家庭衝突、健康問題…尤其是和媽媽的溝通火速和解。以及長輩們的臺詞有點陳腔濫調。這樣看這個夏天就像是兩個等待結果的人在抱團取暖，然後曲終人散？倒還算不落窠臼。蜜月期的交際有種日式的感覺，還是説所有的小甜餅都是這樣的？插入歌曲是否有點密集，我覺得除了Space Oddity之外都不是很必要。感覺他還挺適合，或者説一看就有點像這樣刻薄的角色。年輕人們的穿衣風格很可愛。一些偏暗的暖色調或者霓虹色有點戲劇化。
虽然老公很帅演技很好 但是剧情和男2颜值拉胯 剧情完全撑不起来 想描述家庭和友谊和爱情和自我信念 青春期 可惜一地鸡毛有些混乱
小清新gay 在hiv有暴露风险的3个月的窗口期，和同在诊所的印度裔男孩相遇，小清新迦勒Caleb最终的hiv检测结果已经不再是重点，无论怎样他都能够拥有一个美好的人生，用这个开放式的悬念提醒大家:在医学的帮助下，HiV不应该是一个人的死刑判决，依然可以过上积极美好的人生。/和黑发亚裔短发女开party自制锡纸过瘾，双人自行车……这种糖水片不是我的菜，小清新男有点甜茶风，这种风气不可学。/小清新男的床，早上醒来模模糊糊找手机，摸到的满手的零食。虽然这个更轻快但我更喜欢《伟大的自由》这种类型/cue 泰勒斯威夫特，笑了~霉霉很难的，要不是黑客暴露卡戴珊和她那那sb一家的毒蛇心机，霉霉到现在都爬不起来/只有养育过自己的家人才算是家人，老公刚死就忙着找新男友都忘了去接自己儿子放学的人不算母亲。
色彩太漂亮了 很高兴看到Troye还是那个有着夏日清爽气息的男孩 一如许多年前初识的青春
表现过于平淡和范式化，像MV，一度拉进度条，后半段优于前半段，troye好帅，表演也不错。
3.5。一个友谊和爱意之中的亲密关系，不断寻找正确的认识，挣扎纠结再重新爱，生活不会很无情，驾驶向前的单车才值得迎面拂风。（配乐加分）
