The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 回想起来很多美国纽约的场景，其实电影并没有在疯狂拍外景，帅哥美女的颜值已经深深刻画在观众眼里。是一次次试探，是一次次被吸引，也是一次次难以抑制的喜欢，还是那个经典爱情片的味道，看着欢喜。再加上圣诞的氛围，婚礼的仪式感，职场的小火花，这样的商业片足以，慰藉孤独与麻木的日常生活。有滋有味多好，因为那个人在你身边，点燃你的火花，对生活对自己，突然清醒。老套路，但是感情依旧，让人买账。好喜欢这种简单的美好的电影。相信还有美好的感情。只有那种绿色能衬托你的眼睛。
亚洲人真心欣赏不来欧美纯爱电影，没有共鸣，一票这类题材的豆瓣评分都不高，不过我还是喜欢《爱乐之城》

呼吸部分跟冥想相关，这一部分比较吸引人。但是关于救赎，电影表达的差劲。
致敬布列松的扒手，也不是第一次了，人物内心世界还是跟布列松的差远了，扒手可是有陀思的精神支撑着，这个赌徒是无法摆脱监狱虐待的心理阴影
罗马Olimpia。难得的近期看电影不想睡觉场。议题很棒，节奏拖沓，音乐不错，画面和女主都差一口气。
不知道是不是威廉达福给我的错觉，怎么施拉德到这一部变得有点像费拉拉。

与《算牌人》最相像的是斯科塞斯的《爱尔兰人》，二者都在本是绚烂张扬的类型里拍出了萧索之气。施拉德那新教徒般的节制在这个寓言中显出恐怖的一面来，他的男主角的道德性即体现于这种节制，他是一个能算牌的人，能看透坐庄的美国体系里自洽的极权性，却只稍作利用以维系生活而不加追究。直到最后，他才成了真正的威廉·退尔，一个斗士。他在自由之时却似乎活在玻璃监牢里，而在监狱中反而获得了真正的自由。
近期看过的最喜欢的一部欧美爱情片！养眼的男女主，复古温暖的滤镜，让人舒适的取景，有趣的故事和主角有趣的灵魂～一定会再二刷的电影！
soooooo cheesy but fun
套路爱情片，电梯那段还挺好磕，后面人物动机也没交代清楚
挺美好的一段，桥段有一点点老，像十年前的水平。
办公室恋情，一男一女表面敌视内心喜欢的瞎折腾故事，有几个笑点，能笑出来但不够好，至于感情方面的戏，我对此无动于衷，个人认为这方面比较失败。影片的质量就像鸡肋，可以看，但看了也没啥意思，尤其是我对女主喜欢不起来，男主倒还有一丢丢好感。我给3星6.2分，删掉了！
女主真的好漂亮🥹男主不知道为啥有点像宫洺。。
剧情太老套了吧！男主身材好长相还好，还纯情，这种男的也就电影里有吧
