The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 印式教育片。所有角色都是纯粹的善与恶，表演和画面都非常非常夸张
极其注重仪式感，鼓吹英雄主义，而特效和歌舞，更是“秀得天花乱坠”。
随影片进展我们心里想的：忠犬侠对阵牧羊侠；卧槽天生一对情浓密意；什么什么S M大戏！！；霸道总裁快放过你的小绵羊；小绵羊快和霸总在一起；卧槽！！好帅！！！
神片还是得三哥来，整整三小时“史诗”长度的动作歌舞片。要被杀头了还得唱一首，诶，就是玩儿～
印度版漫威，一支槍對幾百支槍，贏了，一個人對幾千人同樣贏了！不是漫威是什麼？史泰龍望塵莫及！

开挂爆爽的视觉盛宴，双男主凭借二己之力推翻大英帝国的统治，实在是神乎其神。
印度开挂抗英神剧，看来印度也在搞民族主义，但这样的国家也算是头一次了，毕竟之前当狗当习惯，突然看到这样印度还真不习惯，剧情太老套，拍摄也很一般，完全搞不懂难道他们不知道打游击枪武器？，非得投靠他们然后再枪武器？

一切敌人的消灭都成为为了意识形态蜕变为民族神话的绚烂烟火。而所有不合理的情节与想象力，因为暗合了观众的意识形态需要被接受。与此同时，电影中的观众镜头暴露了意识形态布展的潜在受众，在西方和民族双重视野下，斗兽场的搏斗开始具备新的意义。
这个假的太多了吧，开挂那些就不说了，腿突然就好了！最离谱的是把人家父母杀了，女儿还开心的跟他拥抱。没有巴霍巴利王场面大，有些镜头看着也挺燃的
虽然随时唱歌跳舞虽然剧情不能推敲，但至少人家主角男人气浓厚荷尔蒙爆棚吧。
印度电影的剧作已经迷失在技巧中了，已经不需要真实性了，只要一个巧合就够了。看完这个片儿，感觉吴京在长津湖里还能再活两部。
印度在塑造英雄这方面，实在是炉火纯青，信手拈来
