The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 蛋生，破四旧先锋，专治牛鬼蛇神！他的师傅袁公，其实就是袁天罡，牛棚知识分子，因为乱说话被整肃。当然还有一老二少三个狐狸精。这样生旦净末丑就兼具了。
有没有人觉得那个年轻女子的狐狸精长得极像犯病病小姐？
《天书奇谭》最让我感动的是影片最后一段的纪录片，不由得感叹老一辈艺术家们的用心，他们在追求艺术的道路上一丝不苟，每一个部门都有着相同的目标，这不单是物质的快乐，更是精神的升华。
好有趣的人物设计啊，造型、动作都超有想象力，“我是他爸爸”那一段笑尿了，现在看还挺有讽刺意味，爸爸不能太多，一个就足够，但不能一个都没有。那时候还有对权贵的嘲讽，现在是不可能有了。袁公很理想主义啊。片尾十分钟幕后故事很好看！

该片讲述天宫里的袁公偷盗天书，刻在石洞里，后被三只狐狸偷学。狐狸修炼天书法术后，危害百姓。最后由天鹅蛋化为人形的蛋生，学习法术后和袁公一起消灭了狐妖，而袁公因泄露天机，被抓回了天庭。

2010年年后再CCTV少儿台上又重温了这部动画，无愧为经典。
袁公窃取天书，似普罗米修斯盗取火种与接踵而至的潘多拉魔盒。授予神力本为造福世人，而为恶人所用又多了后患无穷。
