The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 对幕末史没点了解的真看不下去，不过我算是懂
流水账式的电影，叙事结构太差；演员都选得非常好，就剧本是软肋，比关原之战差太远了。
行云流般的长镜头让人沉浸感十足，明明是残酷的战争，却被赋予了诗情画意般的意境，战争片的另一种打开方式。
在以往的战争题材影视作品中，浙西南革命故事很少被提及，对于观众来说，挺进师的名字更是陌生。选择以此作为电影的切入口，主创团队一方面是想弥补这一段历史在影视创作中的空白；另一方面是看到了故事背后的张力：在这一段不为人知历史中，一群普通士兵的信仰之路。

2.5……这样的制作这样的卡司这样的时长，怎么还能把司马辽太郎的作品拍成这样？？？要说的想说的东西太多，以一部电影的容量来拍新选组从创立到消亡还是太勉强了？
没有刻意的打造强戏剧冲突，非常写实，一瞬间就能把人拉回那个年代。

战争很残酷，真实感爆棚，水墨泼洒中光影明灭间，自己仿佛置身于那场战争中，参与感也是极强的。
整片都是黑白色调，在爆炸的时候突然有了色彩
不得不为这部影片的长镜头叫绝，运用的行云流水相当丝滑，代入感也是绝绝子，极大地提升了观影过程中的沉浸感，安利喜欢战争片的宝子们来看。
北影节看的第一场电影，摄影、剧情、音效一言难尽。大片冗长、枯燥的镜头，节奏拖沓，剧情莫名其妙，配音尤其难受，像是屏幕里在演默片，屏幕外一群配音演员在耳朵边说话，口型也对不上。
