The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 故事多少讲清楚了吧，但是就是手法上太像小品了，适合消磨时间看看。

镜头十分朴素…有一些笑点，比如馕哥哈哈，最后都干烧烤了，和老爷子合伙不就得了嘛
《烧烤之王》基本还停留在崔志佳小品式的创作思维，疯狂融梗，建立矛盾。小品演员做电影，优势在于对故事代入，背景交代有非常高效的创作思维。本片的核心矛盾在影片开始十几分钟就确立了。但是问题就在于，崔志佳没有完整的电影创作逻辑，不断加入网络段子，近九十分钟的片子，竟然连第二幕都没讲完就草草收尾。这就展现出作者完全没有电影整天概念的问题。作为电影，连基本结构都没走完，片子一定是不及格的。作为段子合集，还能勉强一看。
佳佳还是有底子，毕竟中学时晚上最盼的就是“爱笑兄弟”。时间难回溯，剧作上有些缺失生活味，兴许是走了具备市井名称的另类路线。
没有什么问题是一顿烧烤解决不了的，如果不行，就两顿。
和所谓的大制作相比，至少用心了，爱笑的风格还是没变
