The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 我感到最绝的部分是小儿子说“我听说过她的那些男朋友，她总是陷入麻烦，她以前还流产过”“我该怎么回答这个？我都是第一次听说”过于真实了。身为这一个家庭的儿子，不知母亲为何偏爱自己，不知姐姐和母亲为何感情微妙，和前女友难以复合，甚至不知道姐姐流产的过去。男性世界和女性世界如此隔绝，怪不得男性的缪斯是女人，女人不存在缪斯。
起初有点失去耐心，但故事慢慢变得治愈。一大一小，互相治愈，甚至互相照顾。像是朋友的亲情。
當cliche 拍得不落俗套，孩子想像的未來以及成年人不敢面對的將來，累極時為自己打打氣，c'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon。生命糟透了，但很正常。

大量对话的平和片子。虽然是以孩童的视角切入，却觉得更像给大人看的。最后两人在树林中释放大喊的时候很感动。I am not fine and that is a totally reasonable response.
