The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 7.5 导演拯救剧本。并非如通常般着重展现赌牌、监狱、报仇这样充满“男子气概”重头戏，转而聚焦情感的流动表达。
故弄玄虚的氛围和温吞的剧情推进有点脱节，爱情戏则像是硬加进去的佐料没有任何chemistry ，而”墙上挂着一把枪”的铺垫下的结果竟然是”我就是不让你看到我是怎么用的”，真是让人觉得非常没劲了。如果是一本小说，或许还挺值得一看。

除了男主长得很像卡纳瓦罗，一无是处。节奏缓慢，女配垃圾。音乐还行。
看的时候觉得这个片儿和《第一归正会》有点像，原来一个导演。
周末事儿多用了三晚。我看完了，其实本是想周末找个爆米花电影打发一下，谁知道这是部节奏很慢，很隐晦的电影。我看不懂，我还是不做评价了，但是我感受到伊萨克的偏执与孤独，还有最后的碰手指，很温柔。
想赎罪，换个别的行业呗，选德州扑克干鸡毛啊！整那气场跟赌神似的，我TM人都码好了，你给我看这个。
说实话，本作卡斯阵容也相当不错：

这苦闷下要迸发出来的能量 镜头声音节奏都喜欢。我有点儿觉得i feel you 这想法又莫名可笑。
前一个小时几度要睡过去，最后半小时蛮有趣，最后一幕又很糟糕……片子题材挺有意思的，男主角很会演很帅，总之看完让人有点纠结要不要推荐……
让我想到了福柯的训诫与惩罚，但文艺性不如拉斯冯提尔
要么老老实实拍玩牌，要么老老实实拍复仇，这又是复仇又是玩牌。。。

（7.3/10）《算牌人》的电影与其主角一样冷峻，施拉德创作的角色William是一个自我审判者，视赎罪为唯一目的，为赎罪不计任何后果。而正如他算牌的经验之谈，打出任何牌都会产生后果。Finally, he tilted.
新黑色电影与赌片杂糅，鱼眼广角下的战争创伤与幽闭恐惧。保罗·施拉德还是很老派啊，看来年度十佳真是各花入各眼
