The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. 最后烂尾了，开始还不错，氛围感很好，最后女主死的时候，居然良心发现，也太假了，杀他继父那一段，铺垫也不够。
冰天雪地的现代战争，迫不得已的终极武器，不能不让人想到现在的俄乌战争……但是故事真是烂，白瞎了北欧的一片好风光……
末日题材却没有具体的核心目标，前面似乎是科幻冒险，最后却变成个体对抗「环境」/「制度」，只感受来自创作者的泄愤情绪，显得糊里糊涂又无济于事。
